Outlook 2002

Yes, I didn't make a mistake -- Outlook 2002 is the version I am looking for
help with. When I add a new contact in Outlook 2002 SP3 10.6515.6626, upon
saving the contact I immediately get a "1 Reminder" with that contacts name
stated as a "Follow Up". The date and time listed for the follow up are
exactly the same date and time as the pop up reminder appears. Even when I
dismiss or tell this reminder to snooze, it keeps popping up randomly and and
the date/time is is always current. This happens for any new contact I add
to my address book. Any help, anyone can offer would be appreciated... other
than upgrading. Thanks.

To make sure Outlook is not recognizing the Contacts folder as a Calendar
folder start Outlook with the /resetfolders switch;
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /resetfolders
(note the space in the command)

To reset the reminder service close Outlook and start it with the
/cleanreminders switch;
Start-> Run; outlook.exe /cleanreminders
(still note the space ;-))
