Outlook 2002, msvcrt.dll crash

I have a user whose Outlook crashes shortly after it is opened, with
the error:
"Faulting application outlook.exe, version 10.0.6626.0, faulting
module msvcrt.dll, version 7.0.2600.1106, fault address 0x0003381c."

I've tried Office repair, uninstalling/reinstalling Office, and all
service packs are up to date.
This error started yesterday after the user says he upgraded to Media
Player 10, but it still occured after I went to the previous restore
point.

msvcrt is the MS C++ runtime DLL.The version that is on his/her machine may
now be incompatible with the version needed for OL 2002. Have you checked
the version of that DLL for other users?

Actually, my own desktop has the same version and has no problems, and
I have not installed Media Player 10.

Ok, I've narrowed it down even more. I created my own user and
outlook profile on the machine, and it works. I deleted the user's
outlook profile, and re-created it, and the problem still occurs.

I can make the crash happen immediately by choosing the
Tools-->Customize menu, or just by clicking the "Actions" menu.

This indicates that the user with the problem may have a second,
incompatible copy of the DLL in his or her user profile. Search the disk
for the DLL and see if there is more than one copy. If there is, rename the
one specific to that user, log out and in again.
