Outlook 2002 - keeps having to recheck PST folders

Hi,

I'm gettng very frustrated with Outlook 2002 running on Win XP Pro. It takes
a very long time - more than 20 minutes each time when I restart my PC or
logon to my PC. It goes through and checks each of 10 or so PST folders that
I have my emails stored in.

I run the PST check and repair tool on the PSTs but that has not helped in
any visible way, though it took a very long time to check the big files.

My main PST folder is a little over 1 Gigabyte and I have at least a couple
of other PST folders that are close to that.

Thanks and Regards,

Ted M.

Does the check find any errors? Ten PST files (which is what I think you're
refering to when you say "PST folders") might be a bit of overkill.

When you say checking do you mean you get an err msg stating something along
the lines of '.....need to check your personal folders'?

Did the pst repair tool find and correct any errors?
And if you close all your suplimentary pst's, within OL, does the problem
persist?

Folders or actual separate PSTs? If the latter, you seem have something
holding Outlook open when you believe it should be closed. You do close
Outlook before shutting down or sleeping your PC, correct? Do you have any
desktop search or other file-scanning or -indexing apps? DO you have a
cradled PDA? See f anything here helps:
