outlook 2002 can't connect to IMAP after upgrade to Vista

Hello all,

I recently upgraded to vista business and my outlook 2002 imap connections
no longer work. the error i get is:
There may be server or network problems or your timeout interval may be too
short.

Protocol: IMAP
Server: xxx.xxx.net
Port: 143

I thought that it might be a firewall issue - but the new 'Windows Mail'
product is able to connect to my imap server.

Is this a known issue or am i overlooking a configuration?

Thanks.

It could still be a firewall issue. Make Outlook an exception in the
firewall.

Outlook 2002 has no full compatibility with Windows Vista. The issue you
described might be the result of this incompatibility.

however their is still no confirmation about imap not being supported.

Not yet... ;-)

I hope for you that it's not a compatibility issue and someone will help
you solving it.
