Outlook 2002 "abnormal program termination" after loading Norton .

We use Windows 2000. We are having problems launching Outlook after we
dowloaded and installed Norton Internet Security 2005. This adds Norton
AntiSpam to the Outlook screen.
Everytime we launch Outlook we get a message from MS Visual C++ Debug
Library: abnormal program termination. Three options are given: Abort, Retry
and Ignore. Retry leads to another error: Outlook.exe has generated errors
and will be closed by Windows. Ignore leads to Microsoft's error reporting
page which has a box checked saying "restart Outlook". When Outlook restarts
it gives the same MS Visual C++ message (above). but if I wait 10 secs or so,
I can use Outlook normally. If I log out and my wife logs into her user area
the same thing happens.
Has anyone experienced this? There is nothing on Symantec's website and they
charge for tech support if the problem is not on their automated knowledge
base. Please help.
We use a Dell XPS T500 Pentuim 3 with 768 MB of RAM. There is 400 MB of
physical memory available.
