I have Outlook 2000 and the performance is very slow and getting worse.

Outlook takes minutes to open and then when undertaking tasks.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling and that does work. I don't know
what else to do.

Can anyone help please.

Is OL the only app that's slowing down? If not, you need
to do disk maintenance. If it is, you may still need to
do some disk maintenance. The basic question is the size
of the .pst file(s) you're using. A number of factors
relating to this can cause the slow down.
- How big is the .pst file in relation to the free space
on your HD?
- Is your HD (and, specifically, the .pst file) severly
fragmented?
If you can give a little more info about your situation,
you're sure to get the help you need.
