Hi

Getting an error when sending mail locally and externally only
Receiving mail is fine

Error - The smtp server was not specified please try again

Any ideas?

Did you go into your POP/IMAP account(s) and retype the SMTP server name?

What operating system and do you have any antivirus software installed that
can scan POP3 email as it is downloaded?

You also might try deleting your POP3 account(s), reboot, and then add them
back to Outlook. (Might be possible registry corruption in the user hive of
windows 2000/xp. this does not require a reinstall of the operating system.
just need to create a new user operating system profile [new user id] and
start using this new user id while copying out whatever data you need from
the old one before deleting it.)

No antivirus software installed, might check the firewall within XP but
highly unlikey... yes good idea might recreate new profile within XP...

Thanks
