Outlook 2000 problem sending email from applications

We have an Exchange 2000 server and Outlook 2000 clients configured to use
this for email. A laptop that has recently been reformatted has a
configuration problem with Outlook.

Outlook 2000 opens fine and works with Exchange sending and receiving ok BUT
if the user attempts to send email from inside an application, the 'Internet
Connection Wizard' pops up each time. If she completes this the email is
sent but the wizard pops up the next time she tries to send an email from
inside an application.

I have tried putting the user in the domain admin group temporarily and have
checked 'Set Program Access and Defaults' but this has not solved the problem.

Your advice appreciated.

PC is on a wired network. It has no dial-up connections configured. As such
the options for dialling are greyed out although 'Never dial a connection' is
the selected option.

Thanks Bill. That was the nudge I needed. Default mail client was OE. If
only I'd thought a bit more about it.

Apologies for delay in reply. Only part-time support for this company, a
few hours a week, on a Tuesday and Friday, unless there are major problems!

Thanks again.
