Outlook 2000 on Vista problem

J

Jim

I recently installed a new pc w/ Vista and then installed my old
applications including Office 2000. Once I installed Outlook 2000, I
imported my original data (e-mail, contacts, etc.). Subsequently, I have
observed several problems:
1) The Outlook does not recognice the old contacts as an Address book. In
fact, when I prepare new email, and click the "To" button, I cannot see any
of the over 300 contacts.
Can anyone help me on this issue?
2) The second problem is that I get a message that "the Office Assistant is
not istalled properly." I reinstalled Office a couple times and even used
the compatibility mode, but I still get the message.
Can anyone help me on this issue?

Thanks. Jim

Outlook 2000 has some problems running under Vista. Versions 2003 and
later run well under Vista. Outlook Express won't run under Vista.

You'll get faster answers for problems with Outlook on this newsgroup:

microsoft.public.outlook.general

Mention that you are running Outlook 2000 under Vista, since this
newsgroup also covers other versions of Outlook, even under other
versions of Windows.

HI, JIM. OUTLOOK 2000 UNTIL OUTLOOK 2002 NO WORKING WITH VISTA. SAMETHING
OFFICE 2000 UNTIL OFFICE 2002.
I THING THAT YOU BUY A NEW OUTLOOK 2003 OR 2007. OR USE WINDOWS VISTA MAIL
OR WINDOWS LIVE MAIL.
SAMETHING WITH OUTLOOK.
