Problem importing messages to Microsoft Mail from Outlook

In a new Vista installation, I am trying to import messages and contacts from
Outlook (full Office 2000 version) on my old system to Microsoft Mail on my
new Vista system. I get a popup saying "Messages cannot be imported from the
MAPI client. An error has occurred." Anybody know how to fix this?

You have two choices: 1. Install Outlook (version 2003 or later; a free
trial
version will run long enough), also known as the MAPI client under Vista,
and
then import the .pst file under Windows Mail. 2. Import the messages and
contacts first into Outlook Express on your old system and then from Outlook
Express on the old system to Windows Mail on your new system:
