Outlook 2000 Crashes when loading

After a software update for Adobe reader I restarted the computer without
first shutting down Outlook. Since then I have been unable to get outlook
to start up. It crashes and wants to send a report to Microsoft. I let
it,
and followed their advice and installed all updates. Still nothing works.
I restored to an earlier date, and still no luck. I have completely
removed
Office 2000 using the install disk, reinstalled and still no luck. I
have
moved my pst file to another computer and am getting along, but this is
not
the answer.
Listed below is the error message I get when I try to start Outlook and it
crashes.

AppName: outlook.exe AppVer: 9.0.0.2416 ModName: mso9.dll

ModVer: 9.0.0.2720 Offset: 00003257

HELP! Any ideas what I can do?

You can try a couple of things that I can think of. Rename the outcmd.dat
file while Outlook is closed, then try to open it. Or you can open Outlook
with the /nocustomize switch or the /cleanprofile switch. You can also open
Outlook in safe mode in order to troubleshoot further:
http://www.howto-outlook.com/howto/commandlineswitches.htm
If you get Outlook open, try to run a detect and repair.
I'm also very sure others will post with further advice to help you out.
Good luck!

Thank You, Thank You! Renaming the outcmd.dat file did the trick, and now
life can go back to normal. My, how we come to depend on these dam
