Outgoing mail - no header info indicated on print copy

JIM D

Just got new computer with M.S.Vista installed.

Machine seems to be working fine on all accounts.

My cable provider helped me set up my email to go thru their servers.

It seems that the people that I send to get my messages.

Problem comes when I try to print on my AIO (all in one) printer, the
outgoing
header information does not print on the copy. No indication of the
[To,From,Cc,etc]
shows on the print just the outgoing message that I sent or forwarded with
comments
prints.

I am a infant learning when it comes to computer systems, can someone help
me bridge the learning process.

Thank You All

This appears to be a WinMail bug with HTML messages.
One laborious workaround would be to paste the message body
into Word, then copy the header info separately, and print from
Word.

The behavior you're seeing is due to a bug in IE7's Shrink To Fit feature.
It would appear that Windows Mail, like Outlook Express (OE) and Outlook
(OL), still uses the IE print engine.

STF can be disabled when you're printing in IE, but not when you're printing
an email. There's a hotfix available but AFAIK it only pertains to OE and
OL. I've pinged the IE team about this and will let you know what they have
to say.

This hotfix (and another one fixing a different STF-related bug) is expected
to be included in an upcoming Cumulative Update or Roll-up for IE7.

Workarounds include:

1. Before opening the message to print it, enable Tools > Options > Read >
Read all messages in Plain Text;

2. Forward the message to yourself, then print it.

3. File > Print > Preferences > Orientation > Switch to Landscape mode
(YMMV).
