Out & About Soutport ... part 1

Went out today with my Sister to one of the local parks here in Southport ... I took me camera ... you'll find the pics in the gallery.

Yup ... you can see the "new work" as everything in the re-work needs some rain ... there is another 'green house' but it's still a bit of a building site.

All the new work is being funded by a Lottery grant.

I visited there in the winter, and half the place was a building site ... they have done very well though ... I love the new fountains.

I have more pics to come ... my batteries died and I used my sisters camera, but, I forgot to download the pics.

I'll do a more general walk-about-town another day ... maybe tomorrow.

hey, watch it, I can give you a good run for your money.

Used to take quite a good "shot" with my old Zenith ... can't see to use these new-fangled thingymebobs these days ... but I didn't do too bad though the 'view finder' now did I.

It was quite funny ... Mrs Duck and the chicks were quite oblivious to us, but up comes Mr Duck quacking his head off ... he made sure we moved on.

Same with the signets in another shot ... mum & dad were just off to the right, out of shot, and we had to walk right past them all ... not one of them took a blind bit of notice.

Lots of 'babies' all over the place, moorhen chicks too ... no big seagulls you see.

At a pond near my parents i stopped the other day to let a pair of swans & signets cross the road the biker next to me turned off his bike. Mr Plod was none to happy when we sat their as the lights went green.

Came up to me and asked be to move on, i explained the situation to which he said he would get them to move quicker, he got within 6 foot of the signets when Mr Swan flipped and attacked Mr Plod, a hasty retreat followed much to the amusement of the other 8 mr plods in the Police van

Swans are not to be messed with they can kill a man quiet easily!
