Oulook 2003 popup "out of office"

Hi,
When opening outlook 2003 and "out of office" is switched on, outlook
doesn't display the popup window "do you want to turn it off". How and when
activate that valuable popup?

If you disable Cached Exchange mode does that make a difference?
 
I have a few users, including me, who have the same problem. If I restart
the computer after setting Out of Office, it'll remind me when I restart
Outlook. If I just log off, it won't.

We ask our users just to log off so updates can happen after hours, but
users with this problem restart when they've set an Out of Office.

I'd love to find a better solution, but I've given up.
