Other PCI Bridge Device Error

B

Brian

I bought a computer on sale and didn't realize that at the time it had
Windows Vista. I did not like Vista and decided to purchase a copy of XP and
install it instead. I had all the usuall problems with the drivers not being
installed, so I fixed that and the computer was working fine except for one
thing. In the Device Manager under Other Devices there is a big yellow
question mark next to Other PCI Bridge Device and it says the the driver is
not installed. I for the life of me cannot figure it out. The computer used
to access the internet with a wireless network, but we moved and don't have
it anymore. Now I plug the connection directly to the internet and it will
not connect. Can anyone help or make suggestions? I cannot connect to the
internet to do self diagnosis anymore so if you know the file I need to
download or how to fix it I would very much appreciate it.

Usually, you need to install the motherboard chipset drivers. This
would normally give you the control for most motherboard devices.
