Hi, when I start up the install wizard window pops up and says found new
hardware
When this started my sound disapeared. It wants to install PCI Device. I
went into device manager and there is a yellow question mark on one of the
pci drivers.
HELP!

One of the typical causes for this message is really due to
an imcomplete installation for *all* of the features of the
PCI device from its cdrom. Just what device is it? Perhaps
the last device that wsa installed in this computer.

But if this is a new installation of Windows or a new system,
then make sure that all of the motherboard drivers and patches
have been installed. These should be found in the cdrom that
is supplied with the motherboard or system.

GHalleck, thanks for the quick reponse. One thing how do I extract the
missing data from the install disk with out it completely restoring my hard
drive to its origanal settings?

if you know the device type, you go to the makers website and download the
drivers
rather than using the restore disc.
and then just reinstall the drivers.

Hi. I have the same problem. Can I ask if you solved the problem and how?
Or
maybe someone else can help. I have the problem without having installed
any
new hardware. Unfortunately the problem started 2days before a 3mth
busines
trip, so memory of the occaision/cause is lost. Cheers, Dexter

If you want help with your problem the best approach is to post a new
message giving relevant information about the problem, the history of it,
the system and configuration and what troubleshooting steps you've tried.
