Hello to whom it may concern, I have a Gateway FX510 desktop computer with
very high end hardware and memory to the max. And I install Windows vista Pr.
And in Device Manager under Other devices, my IPMI Interface and PCI Serial
Port.
are yellow with (Code28). Where and how do I fine the drives for these two
devices
I notice that because of these two, I can't download pictures from my
digital camera. Canon digital rebel. the scanner and camera wizard cant see
the camera.
and I notice that the two same devices error are showing up on most Gateway
systems. I also have a gateway laptop install with Vista Ult. having the same
problem. can someone please point me to some help.

Please help

I'm having the same problem. I've contacted Gateway but they keep sending me
the wrong information. Or they give me the run around. It's getting rather
annoying. Microsoft was nice enough to tell me I was out of luck, and would
just have to wait for a solution...

From what I've seeen elsewhere Canon have announced that they will not
be supplying VISTA software for at least some of their cameras and
recommend using a plug in card reader.

That's something many of us would do anyway since it is faster than
directly connecting the camera and doesn't use the camera batteries.

To get an idea of what I'm talking about have a look at this listing on
the NewEgg site for examples:

I have a unit in my desktop that uses a 3.5 inch drive bay and gives me
a removable card reader that I can uses elsewhere with a USB cabel plus
it gives 3 USB2 sockets and audio on the front panel.

And I have a tiny reader with built in stubby plug that I can easily
carry with my camera.

Gateway gave me a call this morning, and will be having a techie give me a
call to work me through the solution, hopefully later today. It would appear
that they weren't prepared for the XG computers to malfunction.

The direction the techie sent me didn't solve anything. They said they will
be updating their website (gateway) in the next couple of weeks, so it looks
like we'll just have to wait, and hope it gets worked out by then.

I have a gateway 510xg as well, and have the same two problems. I have an HP
camera and its software does not work.

I also am going through he** trying to figure out how to get my treo 700p to
sync, but that is for another thread.

If anyone knows a fix, please post, otherwise I guess we wait on Gateway.

I have just recently recieved my Gateway 530XV and am having the same two
issues.....ipmi interface and pci serial port......no drivers

pci serial port.

Should come from the cable with the chip in it source if it's a USB to
Serial cable. See if you can identify the chip in it by looking for it
in Device Manager and then on their website.
