Start Windows Mail. Click on Microsoft Communities, then Tools
in the main window, then Newsgroups. If you want a specific
newsgroup, type its name; otherwise type vista to see a list of
newsgroups that apply to Vista. Ignore the ones with a two-letter
language code after "microsoft.update." unless you can read a
language other than English. Scroll down the list until you find
one that looks interesting, click on it, then click on Subscribe.
If you want more, scroll down the list further, and repeat the
action above for any other one that looks interesting. After
the last one, click on OK. Now click on the newsgroup name
in the left pane whenever you want to see messages from it.

If you'd prefer to see newsgroups with names that don't
start with "microsoft.update.", though, you'll first have to
set up a connection to a newsgroups server that carries them.
If you need details on how to do that, we'll need to know
which newsgroups provider has that server. Usually, the
part of your email address after @ is enough to tell us that,
if your internet provider offers a newsgroups server.
