I'd welcome suggestions for a dialup ISP, I'm in the Southwest. One of the PC
mags said Access4Less was okay. Any comments on Highstream? Or ISPwest?
TIA.

Seeing as how no matter who you use, the signal always goes through you
local telephone companies physical lines, I always advocate to use the local
phone company as your ISP.

Then, when you have connection problems they can't say it's the fault of the
phone lines, or give you some other B.S excuse!

i have cable at home but i also have a dialup for my laptop for when i
travel . i was using earthlink but after the 6 month $10/mo trial when i
went to cancel the said they could switch me to peoplepc which they just
bought and merged phone numbers so nice coverage ;-) $8.95/mo . no frills ,
one email addy no web space or anything but the price is right and i've been
getting good conections from even obscure places .

Thanks, that would be Sprint. I can't think of another company that's as bad
as the local Sprint office.

There is a company in Minnesota that has nationwide dialup access.

They are very reasonable and I recommend them to everyone.

I have been using Mailaka for about a year now and am very happy with
them. I believe they are nationwide.

Their URL is http://www.mailaka.net

I use their $6.95 a month basic service (which only has one
mailbox). They have an enhanced service for $9.95 per month that gives
you a web accelerator and 5 mailboxes.

I strongly recommend them.

Netzero has a chaotic website, but is well-regarded, national, cheap, and
has a "high speed" option for only $14.95/mo. This option does not require
any special hardware.
