OS Masking for old Win95 Programs

I have a program designed for Win95/Win98 that says it can
not run under windows 2000. Is there a way to fake out
the program into thinking that it is on a Win95 machine?

Here is a note I picked up some time ago. I have never
tried it myself.

"Run regsvr32 %systemroot%\apppatch\slayerui.dll
Find the shorcut that launches the W9x compatible application and modify
its compatibility tab."
