I am thinking about restoring everything and starting from scratch. What do
I need to be careful of, be sure I have on hand, etc...??? Am weary of this,
but am tired of problems.

Veronica, if you plan on formatting the drive and performing a clean
install of WinXP then make sure you have the
Drivers for your Video and Sound Cards and Devices such as Printer,
Scanner etc. Depending on how old your computer is the software and drivers
on the CD that came with the computer maybe out of date. If you have
Broadband Internet you
will need the drivers for the Network Card. Go to Michael's site. he has
it all spelled out.

i do this regularly .... ok not as much as i used to on win98 and now that i
have broadband there is not a lot that i cant get again ... just make sure
that you back up all your personal files, data, images, videos, email
address's, favourites list .... all that sort of thing

as for drivers, if you have broadband then really all you need is your
network card drivers and if you have XP then thats not going to be a problem
as pretty much every network card ive came across works straight off in XP

Ok, thank you.
When I have no programs running, and have 2 windows open (this was just a
while ago) 1/3 of my ram is being used! What could cause this? (husband said
it was using that)
