Organizer cannot send updates

We have a user who regularly sends out recurring meetings. Sometimes, the
recurring meetings show up in his Calendar as if he were an attendee. He has
the "accept, decline, and tentative" choices, and there is no "Send Update"
button. In the attendee list, he still appears as the organizer, but it's
like he lost organizer functionality. If he changes the meeting agenda or
wants to change the time, he can do that for his own meeting instance, but
cannot send an update to the attendees.
- Outlook 2007
- Exchange 2003
- Blackberry with BES
I've opened up a Microsoft case but they have not been able to help.

I have encountered the same issue where the meeting clearly states at
the top that I am the meeting organizer, however I do not have the
'Save and Close' or 'Send Update' options. This becomes even more
tiresome when you have a resource booked on this invite. You cannot
simply delete the invite and create a new one for your attendees - as
the resource is still booked.

At the top of my invite - it does say I am the meeting organizer ON
BEHALF OF the resource. And in the list of attendees, I am no longer
at the top. Instead, the resource is listed at the top.

Now I have 2 invites at that time - one for my reference (with the
resource) and a new one I sent out to the attendees which I can update
appropriately. The only reason I could see which **may** have
happened is with too many updates made? I would consider this a bug -
but has anyone seen any consistency in when it occurs and when it does
not?

I have the same issue and can reproduce at any time.
Did you get a fix for the problem yet?

I have the exact same issue and it is so frustrating! I manage over 15
meetings a week that may need movement...

Any solutions?

Please let me know!

I have the same problem and it is making me look very foolish in front of
some high level executives at our company. Has anyone heard back on this? I
think I will try to contact Microsoft myself.

I have a manager who's having the same issue. She recently upgraded to
Outlook 2007 and the issue returned. I noticed that she was sending the
invite to a distribution list that she was a member of, thus inviting
herself. Could this be the causing factor?

That's a very good suggestion. Yes, at least a few of the meetings I had an
issue with did include "myself" in the distribution, so I appear twice on the
list.

I will try to remember that in the future and see if it resolves. I have
had issues with other meeting notices as well, but the issues might have been
a bit different. I'll try to monitor that as well.

Fanfare-it here,

Just wanted to update everybody. Working with Microsoft support, we enabled
Outlook logging (under Tools -> Options -> Other -> Advanced), and managed to
"capture" one of these events. I sent the logs to Microsoft, and after
analyzing the logs, they replied, and I quote:

------
This is known issue with BlackBerry. The resolution is to increase the time
interval to delay the delivery of the meeting request and all mail items to
BB by 45 seconds that allows outlook to process it before it touches BB.
Black Berry support confirms the above.

Please point the customer to the following document on the RIM support site:

http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/sear...Public&dialogID=97424588&stateId=1 0 97426457
-------

The link explains how to introduce a delay in Blackberry processing, in
order to allow Outlook/Exchange to finish processing the invitation. I have
introduced this delay, and hopefully we will not have the problem re-occur,
but it will be months before I declare the problem fixed.

For those of you experiencing the same problem and also run a Blackberry
server, you can give this a try, but do it at your own risk! Good luck.
