order of folders

Word used to display my folders in alphabetical order. Now it displays them in *reverse* alphabetical order. When I open folders from My Computer, they are displayed in proper alphabetical order.

I can't find a button or help to fix this problem.

Go into File, Open. Click the View drop-down button and choose Details. Then click the Name heading to reverse the sort. Then you can use the View button to switch back to whatever is your preferred view.

The sort order is retained regardless of the view you're in. So if you sort in Date order and then switch out of Details view, Word will still display files in that order.

Set the file open window display to 'details'. Click the header of the name
column until it displays as you wish, then revert to your preferred view.
