Operation Failed

Hi,
I have a Windows XP machine with Microsoft Office 2003 on it which is
connecting to an Exchange 2003 server.
It connects okay and displays all the emails and I can open them but if I
try to reply or forward I get a pop up box saying Operation Failed. (It does
not even say an object cannot be found)
There is nothing in the event viewer, I have recreated the profile numerous
times and also reinstalled Office completely.
The user can use Outlook Web Access so the mailbox and such like looks okay.
Has anybody else had this issue and resolved it?
Please help
Anthony

Try this to start with:

- Start Outlook in safe mode ("outlook.exe /safe") to see if the problem
continues. It okay, start looking at the extensions that have been
added to Outlook (Tools -> Options -> Other -> Advanced).

- Exit Outlook, rename its outcmd.dat file, and restart Outlook (with
the default toolbars) and check.

Hi Kathleen,

Thanks for your help with this but unfortunately this did not resolve the
problem, the same thing happened in safe mode.

I renamed the outcmd.dat file as well without any success.

Can you think of anything else?

Hi Anthony,

Have you determined whether this is profile or machine specific? Can the
user log into another PC or laptop and use Outlook OK? Can anyone else log
into user's PC/laptop and use Outlook without problems?
