Opening outlook with quick start icon

I must click outlook quick start icon twice to open. The first attempt shows
a quick flash on screen but doesn't stay open. Stays open on second attempt.

Outlook opens to Inbox just fine. However another folder (named Electronic
Accounts = large with many subfolders) opens expanded. I close the
subfolders upon exit from Outlook but it keeps coming back expanded upon
reopening.

What version of Outlook are you using? Did you try running Detect & Repair?
