When I attempt to open my pictures - it takes several minutes before this
area will open- how do I improve this situation?

Does it always take several minutes and is it just opening your pictures?

Only my pictures is attempting to open and it consumes 100% of my cpu!

Which program are you using to open pictures? If it is Microsoft Office
Picture Manager search for the file *.cag. Open this file with a text editor
(make sure you do not make this the default program for opening .cag files);
then delete any paths to folders that no longer exist or you don't have
access to on your computer or network. Save the file and open Microsoft
Office Picture Manager; it should be much faster opening.

Hope this helps.
