Opening IE 6

I have win XP. I did an AOL spyware scan. It came up with 22 hits.
I deleted them. Now when I try to open IE it takes a long time to
boot. I have a cable modem and it used to open immediately. What did
I do wrong, what is happening and how do I correct it? Thank you
