Opening a new window

Recently I had installed Mozilla Firefox browser and was not happy with it. I
unistalled it and went back to IE (which I had never uninstalled - just
changed the default browser). I have no problem opening IE but it always
opens in minimized format and I have to click on the maximize button to
expand the window. This didn't happen before I installed Firefox. Any
thoughts about how I can correct this problem? THX!

Just drag the sides/top and bottom to the size you want then click
File/Close and windows will open maximised in future.

Thank you very much for your quick response, Peter. In reviewing my original
message, I'm not certain it was clearly stated. What happens is when I click
on the IE desktop icon it does open the window fine at that point. However,
when I click on one of the links from within the respective window and it
attempts to open a new window, that is when it only opens a small blue box
representing just the top of the minimized window. This also happens from
within Outlook Xpress as well.

I attempted to execute your suggestion and the cursor froze up on me. I
recycled the system and went back into Outlook Xpress and the cursor is now
acting erractically - freezing up for a moment and then continuing on etc -
not certain where to go from here?

Oh! Until a real expert comes along I would check your system for viruses
and spyware, just to be safe.

Hi William :)

Peter's suggestion is a very good idea given your other problems, and you
might also try the following and see if it helps:

IE New Window Maximizer 2.4.0.1 - Free
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=1746
(Uses Windows API calls and automatically maximizes every browser window you
open)

There's also AutoSizer, free, here:
http://www.southbaypc.com/

or..

Run the REG file at
http://windowsxp.mvps.org/IEFAQ.htm#IEMax
Then retry the open, stretch, close process. It may help if your first IE
window is always
"normal"- even if it fills the screen- not maximized when you close it.

or...

In the last window to be closed only, pass the cursor over the right side of
the screen until you get a two ended arrow <---> (Do not use Maximize), then
hold the left mouse button down and drag the edge of the screen to the right
as far as you want it. Then do the same on all the other sides until it
fills the screen.

also....

Use the "launch IE Browser" shortcut: Right click on the desktop
icon>Properties>Run
Maximized>Aapply>OK out. That works as well.

Hope this helps
