how to stop IE from opening a link

B

bill

I would like to stop IE from opening a link when I click on it.

My default browser is Firefox. Most of the time when I click on a link
it opens in firefox - but sometimes it opens in IE.

What make it do that and how do I stop it??

thx

Diagnose your symptom. E.g. what URL is in the Address bar
when this happens?

Also find out what filetype associations you have which still
specify iexplore.exe. For example, in a cmd window enter:

ftype | find /i "iexplore"

BTW will FireFox open About:Blank? What happens if you try
to Run... that URL?
