Opening a new browser

When I click on a link in a current browser I have open,
the link opens in a new window for a minute and then goes
away. How do I fix this?

What is the web page's URL in which you click a link (which opens
another browser instance but which closes after 60 seconds)?

Have you checked the Processes tab in Task Manager to ensure you
recognize each process that is running?

When was the last time you ran a FULL virus scan using a recently
updated anti-virus product?

Did you check for spyware using Ad-Aware, SpyBot, CWShredder, and
HijackThis?

Do you have a popup blocker?

Same problem occur if you have scripts disabled in the Internet security
zone? Could be the sites you are visiting link to pages that use a
script timer that will close the child windows for the browser. You
could also try disabling the meta refresh option in the security
settings since that it also a timer to display another page (which might
use a script to close that window).

Wow, a whole minute is a very long time for a popup blocker to leave
open a popup window. I use PopUp Cop and have it configured for 1000
milliseconds (1 second) for its "Wait N seconds before closing
(invisible) popups". So it is possible that I might see the popup
window flash very briefly on the screen but usually I never see it
because it takes that or longer to connect and retrieve the page. You
didn't mention which popup blocker you use. Maybe it is configurable,
too. A minute is way, Way, WAY too long. The point of a popup blocker
is so you never get bothered having to see the popups at all.
