Opening a Folder

Whenever I open a folder by left clicking on the mouse it opens a search
results window, the only way I am able to open a folder is right click the
mouse and select open or explore.
I'm sure that XP was designed to open folders by left clicking the mouse. If
anyone has any ideas on how to correct this glich I am open to suggestions.

Your recommendation solved the problem, I changed the value in
Hkey_classes_root\directory\shell to none and it fixed the problem. This
problem has been haunting me since I switched to XP and your input to solving
the problem was invaluable.
