opening a document in Adobe

I have a stupid question, but it's a nuisance. Whenever I open a document
off of the web, it opens in MS Word, though its a pdf file. How can I change
the settings on my computer to prevent this from happening? Any advice would
be greatly appreciated!

Probably because your file associations are wrong. Help & Support has
advice on correcting such a problem.
