I purchased a refurbishes dell laptop and a tech. put
windows 2000 on it for me. The problem is...all I am
trying to do is pay for something online (which I did all
the time on my other computer) but I get the message "open
with" and I dont know which to choose. I dont have much to
choose from. So, do I need to download something to "open
with"? This happens alot when I get email with an
attachment that needs to be opened. but, I cant open it
because I dont think I have the program on here to open
with. Very easy problem.......but driving me nuts!!! help
..

If you installed Windows 2000 over whatever was there: the problem is in
whatever was there (Win 98?), your installation sucks. You should erase the
hard disk, that is not format it, but erase it with a utility from your hard
drive manufacturer (Data Lifegurad for Wester Digital or MaxBLAST for
Maxtor), those are available free from your hard drive manufacturer's site.
Then do a clean install, and visit windows update.

Poopie dude

What are the extension of the attachments? .zip .rar
..pdf etc?

Since the people at the factory dont install any programs
for you, you'll need to go download it yourself.

Poop you,

Why don't you add Re: to subject line of messeges your reply to. Also
include text you replying to at the top, as above. Outlook Express does it
automatically, in fact any e-mail client does it for you unless you
specifically instruct it not too or if you using croppy AOL sh~t.
