Is there a simple way to find out what files are open *locally* (i.e. not
via the server service) on an XP Pro box?

Hi,

There's an Openfiles.exe that comes with XP no idea how you use it or
whether it's even suitable for what you want but the name suggests it is .
Run 'Openfiles /?' from the command prompt for a list of options.

I'd recommend a third party program for example
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/source/filemon.shtml seems very good.
