Open a file with a double-clic

Hi,

I haved installed Office 97 on my computer who has Windows
XP Home Edition. When I try to open an Office file by
double clicking on it, it always open the file with a
message telling me that the file is already opened, do you
want to open a copy in read only ?

Is there a way to avoid that problem ?

have you tried a single click?...is it a cursor or hand on
the screen?

Hi,

If I watch my "Control Panel" on the "Folder Options" menu
it's really "Double-click to open an item" that is
selected.

I use a touch pad with a cursor to select an open my files.
