only device fonts showing in word 2002

Times New Roman is set as the default font, but only 3 device fonts appear on
the list.

All fonts are present in the C/Windows/Fonts folder.

Other threads suggest to make sure a printer is selected as opposed to
Generic/Text, but I have never had a printer driver installed on this
computer and have never had this problem before.

Any suggestions?

If you've never had problems before, you've probably just been lucky. Choose
a likely driver (the printer you will ultimately print from or any generic
inkjet or laser) and set it as the Windows default. See

How do I do this if I can't connect this computer to a printer? - I never
print from this computer, always saving to USB and printing off another
computer!

You don't need to connect a printer, merely install the driver. Windows
comes equipped with a multitude of drivers, one of which is likely to
emulate the printer that will eventually be used to print the document. The
formatting of the document including the font selection is a function of the
printer driver and not of Word.

While you may have been able to display the font names in a document saved
on a PC that does have a printer driver installed, there does not appear to
be a mechanism whereby you can create documents that display font
information on a PC without a driver capable of displaying them. See
