Only allowing connections to Secured Wireless networks

Does anyone know if it is possible to force XP to only connect to wireless
networks that are secured via an encryption key. I don't want the laptop
accidentally connecting to a public network and being compromised.

Not that I know of. Disable the auto-connect option for non-preferred
networks.
