One .pps plays, one doesn't

Hi:

I received a .pps slide and sound presentation when using XP some time ago,
it worked fine. I now have a new system with Vista. I have also received a
new different .pps presentation under vista which also works fine. Problem
is that the one I moved over from my old system doesn't work. I attached it
to an Email and sent it to my son. It works on his system. Its driving my
nuts.

1. Vista
2. Audigy 2ZS sound card
3. Creative 2.1 sound system

Assuming that the presentations have sound embedded, the sounds are WAVs. Do
either of you know how the WAVs were created? And how about how they were
embedded?

See, there are a bazillion ways the presentation author could have edited
the sounds and a bazillion different settings they could have applied to
them. In addition, they may have converted an MP3 into a RIFF-WAV and
embedded that. Perhaps Vista doesn't like these types of files, and if we
could figure out the differences between sounds it likes and sounds it
doesn't, then we'd have a starting point for troubleshooting.

Additionally, there are a number of ways the sounds could have been
inserted. Are there differences there? For example, were the sounds in one
file inserted into the slide transition, while in the other, they're
inserted directly onto the slide?
