I have put my Power options to enable my PC to go into standby.
When it comes out of standby, the mouse doesn't move and I can't get a
keybiard response.
I have to press the reset button to get the PC working.
Ideas anyone?

This may be due to one of the drivers not being fully compatible with
the power management tool. Check for newer drivers and/or further help
from the manufacturers of the devices.

Excuse my ignorance, but *what* drivers? I am not even sure what device
I have to check.
Thanks

Well, he probably meant all of them...

Can you help by suggesting which ones I start with first?
Is it a graphics thing or a hard drive thing? If I go to Device Manager,
there are so many. I just don't know which one is the power management
thing.

I don't either! I can't understand why this question hasn't attracted more
interest...
But if your subject line is FREE BEER, that often works.

Video drivers and power management often seem intertwined. I'd start
by reinstalling your video drivers, then reboot. You might want to
check to see if an update is available, or confirm that your current
driver is intended for XP.

Thanks! That was helpful knowing where to start.
When I click on Update Driver, is there a way that it can search the net
for one or do I have to know my video driver ahead of time?

I've just had the same problem. I went to the M$ update site and there was
an update for my Navidia card. So far it seems to have worked.
