Hybernate and Standby vanished!

D

Don S.

Hi
I have just complete installation of Office 2007 and Outlook Connector. It
has taken me about 2 weeks to set all the "switches" to the settings I want,
updated or imported by Personal Folders, Contacts, etc.

Now I find that my Standby button on the keyboard does not function, the
Start/Turnoff only gives me two options - OFF and Restart -- with the
Standby button faded out.

I have gone to the Power Settings in Control Panel, as well as Display Power
Options, but no luck there either.

I do no like to leave my PC on all the time and I do not like to shut it
down as it takes a long time to restart.

How do I get my Hibernate and Standby back?

Help

Thanks

Don S.

Hi Don, this Newsgroup and many others are not available via the website and

You may also find that clicking Start, Settings, Control Panel, Power
Options - the Hibernate tab is missing. What is your situation with
the Hibernate tab?

Almost always, and easy to check, it the video drivers for your system
that should be downloaded from your manufacturers WWW site. Download
the correct video driver, install, reboot.

If you can't figure out how to get to the manufacturers WWW site, we
can look it up for you:

Click Start, Run and in the box enter:

msinfo32

Click OK, and when the System Summary info appears, click Edit, Select
All, Copy and then paste
back here.

There will be some personal information (like System Name and User
Name), and whatever appears to
be private information to you, just delClick Start, Run and in the box
enter:

This will minimize back and forth Q&A and eliminate guesswork and
assumptions.
