I have a Dell Latitude. It came with Win 98 loaded on it. I installed XP
home on it. Is 98 still on there? If so, should I take it off? If so, how?

Thanks
Rebecca

leave it there ...everyone else wants to keep the win98
for some reason...i do not know why....

maybe someone will post to tell you why they keep it.

previous windows were neat but so FLAT ...winXP is at
least has curves and 3-d vision.

I do really like XP better than older versions.

The reason I am wondering about taking it off is that it is on a laptop and
the hardrive is getting full. I thought if I took it off, it would free up
some space.

If you installed Xp 'as well' then Win98 is still there, and you should
have a boot menu asking you which one you want. If you did an upgrade,
Win98 is only there as an 'uninstall XP' option (and only if you asked
it to save the old OS) .. look under control panel, add/remove programs,
and see if there is an option to remove WinXP itself.

If you did an upgrade and =didn't= save/backup the old Win98 files, or
if you did a format+clean install, then Win98 is gone.

Thanks !!!!
