Old inbox-how to access

M

Mike W.

After renaming my inbox in Outlook Express to folders.old
from folders.dbx, I solved a problem relating to a memory
or not enough disk space error. Now it functions fine.

However, I have not been able to successfully retrieve my
old inbox messages though they are there. It is now under
Windows/Application Data/Identities/(F00897CO-1640-11D4-
B4CE-F6390DBA5552). I don't know what this is but when I
click on, it downloads a ton of presumably old emails to
somewhere but I know not where. When it is downloading,
some image flashes on and off at about 1 image per 2
seconds and there is no way to stop it for 30 minutes or
so till it finishes. Cannot even stop via task manager
but must physically hit the on/off button on the computer
to terminate as it does not allow me to use other stuff on
my computer. Does anyone know how I can access my old
inbox of emails and then transfer them to a local folder?
Your help is much appreciated.

This is a group to support Outlook from the Office group of programs.
Outlook Express is a part of Internet Explorer and is a quite different
program, despite its similar name..

You will probably get a faster and more expert answer if you post this to an
Outlook Express news group.

Try posting in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.outlookexpress.mac for OE for Macintosh

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).
