Outlook keeps deleting my AOL mail inbox. I have already checked to
keep copy on server. Anyone know how to make Outlook stop deleting
inbox mail? Sometimes it moves the email to old... Outlook never did
this with 2003.
You can access AOL with Outlook only with an IMAP account, I've been told.
If that's the case, there is no option to delete a message when downloading;
mail will ALWAYS be left on the server when you access it from Outlook. If
mail is moving from Inbox to another folder, either YOU have created a rule
to do that or the AOL server itself is doing it and Outlook doesn't play a
part in the moving.
If, however, you are accessing AOL with a POP account (and you certainly
must know what kind of account you created in Outlook to access AOL), then
any moving that's happening is because YOU told Outlook to do it with a
rule. Outlook will not move or delete messages unless configured to do so
by the person using Outlook.
