You may have a corrupted mail folder. With luck, its the Deleted Items
folder, and not the folder you are trying to delete the messages from.
- Close Outlook Express.
- Locate the file "Deleted Items.dbx" (OE5+) in the mail directory and
delete or rename it. You can use 'Start|Find|Files or Folders', "Deleted
Items.??x" to find it. Under Windows 2000 and Windows XP, the file will be
hidden, you'll need to set Folder Options to show hidden/system files so
search can find it.
- Open Outlook Express again. It will create a new empty Deleted Items
folder.
- The same process will work for the Inbox folder, Inbox.DBX, should it be
the problem folder.
