My aol email has a seperate list of folders that doesn't include a deleted
items. I can't check the inbox from or delete to the outlooks email folders .
Does anyone know how I can fix the aol mail to work with the outlook mail
folders?
Since you're talking about AOL folders that you see or don't see I guess
you set up Outlook to use IMAP with AOL. You should see a folder named
"Trash".
I've found the easiest way to deal with deleting AOL inbox messages is to
delete, and then some time later when I get around to it, use Outlook's
"Purge deleted messages" command.
Even so, AOL may take up to 24 hours to actually remove the message from
your account. Quoting AOL:
"E-mail marked for deletion is retained in the original folder, then it is
deleted by the AOL® or AIM® IMAP servers once daily. Some applications show
deleted e-mail in the original folder with the message flagged for deletion
(such as Outlook® or Eudora®), while other applications do not show these
e-mails."
