Old games and Windows XP

I have some old games that were written for Win 95. I recently got a new
computer with Win XP and would like to install them, but I keep getting an
error message saying "WIN NT detected" and it refuses to Load. Is there a
work around so that I can install these under Win XP? thanks. - Kennard
