i had to do a system recovery from the discs, and it stored my data files in
"my old data" folder. most file i can not access, keep getting error messages
can not access file. i have almost given up on recovering my old data, and if
i try and delete the folder i get an error message cannot delete.
how can i recover the data or delete it?

With the oem disks, not sure. However for the future, open file transfer wizard,
set as old computer, select files, folders for it to save, save the data in a
new
folder that you create, once the data is completed in new folder, move to cd.
You'll then have backup of settings and all youre data.

'Take ownership' of the files and folders and then you can
set the permissions. Be sure to propogate changes to the
subdirectories as you do it. See this link.. and watch for
wrapping of the URL or use the 'tinyurl' version.
