Okipage 8z Win 2003 Driver

I'm trying to install the printer in my Win 2003 server and all I get is the
message above.

"The current printer driver is not compatible with a policy enabled on your
computer that blocks Windows NT 4.0 or Windows 2000 kernel-mode drivers"

Does anyone have a clue?

Thanks.

By default Windows 2003 has a policy in place that prevents the installation of Kernel Mode drivers, also known as Version
2 drivers. The reason for this is if a Kernel Mode driver becomes unstable it can take the whole system down and not
simply the Print Spooler process.

First I would check to see if there is a User Mode, also known as Version 3, driver for your printer. If there is not then we can
disable the policy by running Gpedit.msc then under Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Printers we need to
Disable "Disallow installation of pirnters using kernel-mode drivers". It may be possible that this policy is also set through
a GPO.
