Trouble installing printer driver

C

Chuck B

I found the driver on my network. I attempted to install and I received an
alert that stated "Windows cannot connect to the printer. The printer
driver is not compatable with a policy enabled with a policy enable on your
computer that blocks NT 4.0 Driver.

I have a new computer operating Windows Vista Home Edition

I need to install this driver. Please help

Try downloading and installing Vista compatible drivers from the printer
manufacturer's website.

Sure. Like THAT'S going to work. So far, most printer manufacturers have
little desire to update their printer drivers for their 'older' products.
They really want to force us to go out and purchase a new printer, so they
can suck more cash out of us. Ignorant fools can't see that if they provided
good Vista drivers for their older printers we would spend even more on ink
and paper supplies than we would on a new printer. Heck with it. I'll just
scrape Vista off my new machine and return to XP. At least ALL of my
peripherals worked with that OS!
