Help!
I am unable to install SamSung CLP-300 printer to my HP Pavillion dv900
LapTop with Vista Ultimate 32/64 bit. I have successfully installed this
printer on my desk top with Vista Home Premium with no problems, but am not
able to install it on my laptop, I have wasted hours, with no success! I have
tried to install from the installation CD, I have downloaded the Vista Driver
(so called compatable with my OS!) from samsung site, with no success. Keep
getting the error messages: "The printer can't install the Samsung CLP-300
kernel mode printer driver. To obtain a driver that is compatable with the
version of windows that you are running, contact the manafacurer"
"Windows found diver software for your device but encountered an error while
attempting to install it, The pinter driver is not compatable with a policy
on
your computer that blocks NT 4.0 drivers, Contact your device manafacturer"
I have contacted both Samsung & HP, they both say it is a windows problem
and to contact Microsoft, who are uncontactable during the hours I am
available to
do so. I am going nuts!! I really need my printer, PLEASE HELP!!!

Gripe, Gripe, Gripe!
It's Microsoft's fault that you don't know what you bought?
Anyway the Vista version should not make any difference, unless you are
talking about the SP level, or connecting to a domain.

Dell's page for your laptop
Most OEM computers sold at retail have the lowest version of Vista.

As far as the 80 Meg "driver" package from the printer OEM--If it's for
Vista, the usual process is to install it, then connect the printer.
Otherwise, the default Vista included (if any) drivers will usually install.
The printer is not a current model, and was pre Vista.
Currently, the Samsung download site is down. The which driver, etc.
question is complicated by the fact that there is a network capable version
as well as a USB only version. The network version has the most up to date
drivers (Vista) The printer is also supported under Linux.
Massive size driver downloads are usually because
Multi language, Multi ops system, network drivers, and custom software are
included.
